Lost coverage

If you or anyone in your household have lost qualifying health coverage in the past 60 days, or you expect anyone in your household to lose coverage in the next 60 days you may qualify for an SEP. This includes a loss of coverage from your employer due to a job loss.

If you have had a change in income in the past 60 days you may qualify for an SEP. In addition, if your employer offered to help with the cost of coverage either through an individual coverage health reimbursement account (HRA) or other HRA arrangement in the past 60 days you may qualify for an SEP.

Change in residence or status

If you moved and changed your primary place of living in the past 60 days you may qualify for an SEP. In addition, if you’ve been denied Medicaid, been released from incarceration or gained citizenship or lawful presence in the U.S. in the past 60 days you may qualify for an SEP.

Household size

If in the past 60 days you or anyone in your household has gotten married, had a baby, gained or become a dependent, died, gotten divorced or legally separated resulting in a loss of health insurance you may qualify for an SEP.
