Security Health Plan, a part of Marshfield Clinic Health System, is a not-for-profit health maintenance organization. We are committed to improving members' health, managing health care costs and providing them with a high-quality health care experience.
We offer a variety of health-insurance options for employer groups and individuals and families of all ages and income levels. Our broad provider network includes doctors, other health care professionals, hospitals and pharmacies you know and trust.
Our history in helping members obtain affordable health care costs goes back to 1971 when we were founded as the Greater Marshfield Community Health Plan, the first health maintenance organization (HMO) in Wisconsin, and the first rural HMO in the nation. The health plan became Security Health Plan in 1986.
In the intervening years we have grown significantly, and now serve more than 230,000 members in 41 Wisconsin counties.
