Need a COVID-19 test?
How to get tested
Low or no-cost COVID-19 tests are available to everyone in the United States, at health centers and select pharmacies nationwide. Additional testing sites may be available in your area. To get tested:
- Contact your health care provider for information on how to get tested. Or click here to get started.
- Contact your state or local public health department. Find a community testing site in Wisconsin or request a free at-home testing kit.
- You can schedule a test at most pharmacies. Call your local in-network pharmacy to schedule a test, or visit their website to see if they have online self-scheduling available.
Over-the-counter tests
You can also obtain over-the-counter COVID-19 antigen rapid at-home tests. Your Security Health Plan coverage may cover the cost of these tests. Review the table to see how tests will be covered for your plan.
Medicare members obtain at no-cost through participating pharmacies
Beginning April 4, 2022, Medicare will cover up to eight over-the-counter COVID-19 tests per calendar month for members with Medicare Part B coverage (this includes both Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plan members). Tests are available from participating pharmacies with no out-of-pocket costs. Click here to learn more from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This benefit is managed by Medicare and not your Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement plan. Call 1-800-Medicare (1-800-633-4227) with any questions about this initiative. Please note any COVID-19 over-the-counter at-home tests purchased outside of this benefit are not covered and cannot be submitted to Security Health Plan for reimbursement.
Obtain at no cost through in-network pharmacy
If your plan covers the cost of over-the-counter COVID-19 antigen rapid at-home tests you can get up to 8 individual tests (a single package that includes 2 tests is equal to 2 individual tests) per plan member per month, through an in-network pharmacy at no cost. Be sure you select tests that are authorized by the FDA. If you need to determine which pharmacies are in-network for your plan, click the button below to use our online pharmacy locator search. Be sure to purchase your tests at the pharmacy's check-out counter and show them your Security Health Plan ID card.Purchase at other location for reimbursement
If your plan covers the cost of over-the-counter COVID-19 antigen rapid at-home tests, you can also purchase these tests from non-network pharmacies or other locations and receive reimbursement. Again, be sure you select tests that are authorized by the FDA. Then download one of the forms below. You can submit one reimbursement request, with up to 8 individual tests, per month per member on your plan.
