Sexual Concerns
Sex can be an important part of a loving, committed, adult relationship. Problems with sexual health can be the result of medical conditions such as vascular disease or diabetes. They can also be the result of misinformation, performance anxiety, depression, and stress. You should discuss the following concerns with your health care provider. There are many options available to try to resolve these concerns and difficulties:
- Differences with your partner in sexual desire
- Difficulties with sexual arousal, including inability to achieve or maintain an erection
- Inability to achieve orgasm
Under no circumstances should partners be forced or coerced into having sex. This is not sexual dysfunction; it is domestic violence. It should be discussed with your health care provider or your local domestic abuse agency.
