Poison Prevention
Eliminate potential poison hazards. Poisonings occur in infants or children who have access to toxic substances. In some situations poison may be used in a suicide attempt. In older persons, the poison is usually taken mistakenly.
- Keep poisonous substances, including medications, secured and out of the reach of children.
- Keep all substances in original containers with labels intact.
- Discard all unused medications, household cleaners, and paint.
- Have poison control center emergency numbers available by your phone.
