Food Guide Pyramid

Foods contain different nutrients and other healthful substances. No single food or category of foods can supply all the nutrients in the amounts you need for good health. To make sure you get all the nutrients you need, build a healthy base starting with the Food Guide Pyramid. Choose the recommended number of daily servings from each of the five major food groups. Eat a variety of foods within a group to get a wide range of nutrients.
